Prepare for Homework for IB Program

Image
Homework, who in the world wants to do homework? Well unfortunately IB students have to do an insane amount of it so here are some tips to prepare for it. Steps 1 Find some time to relax.  Relaxing your body and mind should be one of your priorities right after school. This can be by just relaxing and maybe taking a 20 minute nap, or can be accomplished by joining a sport or exercising. Make sure you are not straining your eyesight, doing a lot of homework usually involves doing a lot of reading. Take the time you need, but be realistic. Most people need around half an hour to completely relax, while others can get going in 10 minutes. Do not take more than 45 minutes, unless you are exercising. Yoga is a great idea, as you can do it in almost any situation and it doesn't take that long. 2 Start your homework.  You can start on the subject you hate the most, or you can go by the order your classes are in, but you need to find a pattern to follow when doing ...

Here's How to Get Good Grades in IB - ibmeme

Image
IB is an overwhelming program, but if you are willing to put effort into your work, you will be successful. And if you are also an athlete, you are going to always be working harder than the regular IB students that don't play anything. It takes mental and physical strength to get through it all. Steps 1 Always have a plan and know when your due dates are for assignments.  If you haven't already heard from your peers, IB is very challenging. And adding the extra responsibility of sports is like another 20 pounds on your back. But the thing that is most helpful is having a plan for everyday. Schedule things early, and stick with that decision. Know what you are going to be doing the next day and the night before get all your materials together. When you get the schedule for your games and practices, write them down in an agenda or calendar. 2 Don't procrastinate!  Procrastination is in the top 5 reasons why students drop out of IB. When you leave things to be...

Get a 7 in IB Diploma

Image
Get a 7 in IB Diploma English 6:12 PM       IB English can be quite challenging to get a 7 in, especially at a higher level, however the tips below should  help  all IBers aim for a 7! Steps 1 Work hard on every assignment during the year.  You won't have a shot at a 7 in the final exam if you've been getting 5s all year. Make sure your assignments are all well structured [IB English encourages the use of good structure] and all the arguments are backed up with suitably footnoted quotes from the book. 2 Keep a World Lit.  Journal. World Lits give you a chunk of your marks, and since they are done in relatively easier conditions [as compared to the exam and the oral] it is easier to score well in them. Keeping a detailed World Lit journal will help you identify the major themes, ideas, plot points and stylistic aspects. 3 Schedule World Lit meetings in advance, and draw up detailed plans since advice on the first dr...

5 ways to Survive the IB Diploma Programme 3:48 PM       Method 1 of 5: Deciding that this is really for you If you haven't decided to take the IB yet, make sure you know what you are getting ll. Method 2 of 5: Getting your mindset in order This can't be stressed enough. You are juggling 6 or 7 subjects at a college (read: adult) level here, so for goodness' sake, keep your notes for each separate, organised and well written so that you can refer to  them  when it comes to exam time. Make the most of your classes.  Ask questions. Take well ordered notes. Follow up anything that you don't understand, as soon as possible. Method 3 of 5: Staying committed Pick subjects you are the most enthusiastic about.  These are the subjects you are going to be studying intensively for two years. You're going to write essays, read about, do loads of research and homework on those subjects. Trust me, you don't want to do a Business Management IB c...
